Lieutenant Colonel David Langford MBE DL

Colonel Langford grew up on the Island before spending thirty years in the Royal Artillery.
Returning to the Island, he ran the Island Army Cadet Force for five years, spent five years on the IW Red Cross Council, on the Board of St Mary’s Hospital for twelve years: Mental Health Manager; Complaints Convenor and on the Country Land Business Association Island Regional Director for fourteen years. He was also a Case Worker for the Officers’ Association, the Distressed Gentlefolk’s Aid Association and Elizabeth Finn Care. He was also the County President of the Royal British Legion 2008/12.
He is a former High Sheriff and is currently helping to coordinate WW1 commemorations on the Island. Married to Sue (Thorley Church 1968), he has two children and six grandchildren. Colonel Langford also kept bees for 20 years until forced to give up after becoming allergic to their stings!
